Facebook Email
Blogs has been buzzing already for days with speculation, a big one being that Facebook will announce an e-mail service.
The event comes a day before Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg speaks at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.
In our opinion Facebook email will not compete 100% with Gmail’s Google email service because is not so “Business” oriented, yet, but because of large number of Facebook’s users, over 500 million active users, Facebook email will have his part of the eMail’s Pie Free Service beside Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail. To have 500 million users at “a gun shoot fire” is a thing.
If Facebook will have an email service they may disable email mandatory field when you sign up with them, just like you sign up for an Gmail account. If not, you’ll need to use your old email address which can be on gmail, yahoo or hotmail. In that way everybody wins.
The rumored service wouldn’t be just an updated version of Facebook’s currently pathetic Inbox, either, but an actual Webmail client to compete with services such as Gmail and Hotmail, according to TechCrunch.
Code-named Project Titan, the new e-mail service is expected to be announced Monday at a special Facebook press event during the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.
Everybody who use Facebook will have an email address ending with @facebook.com
